Baltimore’s food scene got more national recognition this week with a spot on Zagat’s 30 Most Exciting Food Cities in America for 2017.

Charm City ranked 29th on the list based on its mix of dining options, “from tony cocktail lounges and white tablecloth bistros to hipster beer bars and food halls,” editor Meredith Heil wrote.

The ranking, assembled based on recommendations from food editors across the country, also praised restaurants from established Baltimore chefs – like James Beard Award winner Spike Gjerde’s Woodberry Kitchen and five-time James Beard finalist Cindy Wolf’s Charleston – as well as up-and-coming spots such as Ida B’s Table, Dylan’s Oyster Cellar, Tagliata and its sister speakeasy, the Elk Room.
