Raising The Bar In Baltimore: The New Four Seasons Hotel

By Ann Abel, Forbes.com
Historic, strollable, and utterly laid-back, Baltimore doesn’t at first glance seem like a luxury-hotel town. So it’s a testament to Four Seasons’ ability to tailor its hotels to their locations that this new tower feels right at home—even while the retailers downstairs are J. Crew and Anthropologie, rather than the high-fashion brands usually found in close proximity.
The Four Seasons Baltimore’s 16 stories (a lot by local standards) are its greatest asset, along with its harbor-side location. The panoramas are tremendous, and the focal point of the 256 rooms and suites (from $449)—ask for a marina or harbor view on a high floor, of course—which have glass-curtain walls and understated furnishings assembled by designers who knew better than to compete. (I stayed as a guest of the hotel.)
